Comey Seeks Access to Grand Jury Secrecy Material to Challenge 'Vindictive' Prosecution

Allowing defense counsel to review the transcript and audio recordings of the grand jury proceedings would allow indicted former FBI Director James Comey to learn whether interim U.S. Attorney Lindsey Halligan of the Eastern District of Virginia used a "tainted agent's testimony" to secure the indictment, Comey's attorneys wrote in court documents.
