United States President Donald Trump announced on Friday, October 31, that he was marking Nigeria as a “country of particular concern” after claiming that Christianity faces a threat in the West African country. The countries of particular concern are the list of nations the US finds have engaged in severe violations of religious freedom.

In a post on Truth Social, Donald Trump said, “Christianity is facing an existential threat in Nigeria. Thousands of Christians are being killed. Radical Islamists are responsible for this mass slaughter. I am hereby making Nigeria a “COUNTRY OF PARTICULAR CONCERN.”
