CLEVELAND, Ohio — After Thursday’s soaking rain, Northeast Ohio will get a break from the widespread downpours Friday — though clouds and a few spotty lake-effect showers will hang on, especially across the snowbelt east of Cleveland.
Low pressure centered over New England is slowly pulling away, leaving behind a brisk west-northwest flow across the Great Lakes, according to the National Weather Service in Cleveland .
That will keep skies mostly cloudy through the day, with occasional breaks of sun across western communities and along the Interstate 71 corridor.
Temperatures will stay on the cool side, reaching only the low to mid 50s for most of the region. Winds will be breezy out of the west at 10 to 20 mph, with gusts over 30 mph at times near Lake Erie.
