The Dysart Unified School District governing board halted a resolution that would have called for rejecting plans for a BNSF Railway intermodal site in northern Surprise.
A failed motion to adopt a resolution related to the site was among action items during the Oct. 27 regular DUSD governing board meeting agenda.
Three members refused to adopt the resolution to “urge the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors to oppose the proposal set forth by BNSF in its current form.”
After DUSD governing board President Dawn Densmore presented the recommended resolution, unintended lessons on civics, economics and politics ensued.
