The individual whose remains were found has been identified as 58-year-old Willard Daspit, Jr., who was last seen in September

On the day he disapperaed, Daspit’s motorcycle and glasses were found in a wreck about 100 yards from his home

Authorities in Louisiana say human remains found in a wooded area nearly a year ago have been identified as a man who disappeared in 2023.

Sheriff Becket Breaux said the remains were discovered in a wooded area off of Banker Road in St. Martinville, La., on the evening of Dec. 29, 2024, according to a news release from the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office.
