PERRY CO., Ky. (WYMT) - Children throughout the United States look forward to Halloween every year.

While the holiday should be a safe environment for kids to dress up as princesses, skeletons or their favorite superhero, some people could use it as bait.

Representative Chad Aull and others say they plan to reintroduce legislation to make Halloween safer for children.

“We want children to enjoy trick-or-treating knowing they’ll be safe. Halloween should be a time for laughter, family, and community, not anxiety or danger,” Aull said. “Kentucky law already prevents registered sex offenders from living near schools or child care centers. This bill is another common-sense step that has worked well in other states.”
