A victim of horrific domestic abuse has spoken out about her ordeal after her abuser was sentenced. Iwona Giza, 28, endured sustained incidents of non-fatal strangulation and was even made to eat her food off the floor by 41-year-old Barry Maguire from Omagh in County Tyrone. ‌

Speaking to the BBC, Ms Giza, who is originally from Dublin, said the abuse she suffered was "psychologically damaging and long lasting". ‌
