NC House Speaker Destin Hall says the House has formed a committee to discuss expelling Guilford County Rep. Cecil Brockman. Brockman faces charges for the statutory rape of a 15-year-old. He remains in custody at the Guilford County Jail.
The North Carolina Constitution says each General Assembly chamber can expel its members. According to a release, this committee will investigate Brockman's charges and determine next steps.
12 members will sit on the bipartisan committee. They are:
