The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is asking for help finding a car that's believed to have hit and critically injured a girl walking home from school.

Just after 4 p.m. on Oct. 27, 2025, police were called to the intersection of West 34th Street and Allison Avenue about a hit and run crash. Officers found a badly injured teenager in the roadway, and she was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.

Surveillance footage and witness interviews led police to conclude the girl was struck by a dark-colored Honda Accord made between 2018 and 2020. The car, which fled eastbound on West 34th Street, likely has damage on the center of its front bumper, according to investigators.
