A man has been accused of removing sand from a Georgetown property and reselling it for over $200,000 without compensating the landowner.
Todd Champlain, 41, of Middleton, was arrested on Friday, according to the Georgetown Police Department.
Champlain faces two felony counts each for forgery of documents and uttering false writing and one felony count of larceny over $1,200 by false pretenses.
Champlain had been operating a large commercial business under false pretenses at a property on North Street since before August, Georgetown police said.
Police launched an investigation into the North Street property after complaints came in to the department of heavy traffic and commercial activity over the summer. During that time, Champlain received seven traffic violations and was arrested
