BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — Business leaders from the western part of the state are encouraged to apply for a spot on the Western Region Economic Development (WRED) board, which discusses and creates plans to facilitate economic growth in Williams, McKenzie, Mountrail, and Divide County.

The board is comprised of economic development representatives from the aforementioned counties, and business leaders from the western part of the state. Three spots are currently open.

Funded through memberships, grants, sponsorships, and the STAR Fund, WRED is a non-profit that tries to fuel economic growth. It has the following objectives: • Identify primary sector development opportunities (such as mining and agriculture) to help diversify the economy • Influence state policy • Advocate for the succ
