GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - To celebrate the Halloween spirit, volunteers joined the Green Bay Conservation Corps on Friday afternoon to clean up Baird Creek, removing trash and debris.
The community was invited to join the event from 1 to 3 p.m. for the Halloween-themed event, partnering with the Baird Creek Preservation Foundation and East River Collaborative, both dedicated to preserving northeast Wisconsin's ecological health.
The event was created out of concern for the accumulation of garbage and debris near Sullivan Park, as officials say it poses serious threats to wildlife and hinders water quality.
