EAST LANSING – New athletic director J Batt is attempting to get his Michigan State sports some fresh funding in the changing world of college athletics.

MSU’s Board of Trustees gave its authorization for “Spartan Ventures” at their meeting Friday, Oct. 31. The school said its affiliation with the newly created non-profit, tax-exempt corporation is “designed to advance, promote and support MSU's department of athletics.”
