A new high-speed sport was launched at the Benson Centre on Thursday, where a launch party was held for something organizers say will send sports and gaming to new heights.

Aero Concept Systems Inc in collaboration with DJI is bringing Drone Sport to Cornwall , with the hopes of building out the sport to a broad audience.

“Drone Sport is any sport you want it to become,” said Aero Concept Systems Inc. president Paul St-Onge, speaking to the technology’s versatility. “It could be that the drone is going to push a ball down a field. It could be that it’s racing.

“In predetermined areas, we can use a net and then have something hanging off the net, and when you hit it or touch it or push it in, that is part of it.”
