PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (ABC22/FOX44) - The Alstom Group has recently announced big manufacturing deals for rail cars at its Plattsburgh facility. On Friday, the company said that it is going to try to fill 120 skilled work positions to meet that increased demand.
According to the company, it currently has about 350 employees in Plattsburgh - meaning that it's hoping to increase that number by a third.
"We are happy to be entering such a strong growth phase and to continue to support the Adirondack region’s economy," said Jeff Lambert, managing director at the Plattsburgh plant.
Alstom is holding a job fair next Thursday afternoon from 3:00 to 7:30 p.m., and says that "skilled, experienced job-seekers in assembly, crane operations, welding, and industrial painting are encouraged to attend." P
