Allegheny-Clarion Valley School District is moving fast to complete its multimillion dollar renovation plans and give its students upgraded facilities.
At a special meeting Wednesday, Oct. 29, A-C Valley’s school board approved a contract for electrical work in the auditorium at a cost of $933,333. The bid was awarded to Right Electric.
Superintendent David McDeavitt said this was the second time the district received bids for electrical work. The first time, it came in over budget, at about $1.4 million. McDeavitt said the district modified the scope of work and put it out for a rebid.
McDeavitt said the district also received $400,000 from a PAsmart grant that was not factored in to the original project budget. It will go toward electrical upgrades and a green screen.
