Mary Earps has dramatically detailed her international retirement and the role both Sarina Wiegman and Hannah Hampton played in it.
Paris Saint-Germain’s Earps won Euro 2022 with the England women’s team, and then a slew of individual awards followed, including two The Best FIFA Women's Goalkeeper gongs and the BBC Sport’s Personality of the Year.
Yet just two years later, her minutes were dwindling with Hampton surpassing her to become England’s new main woman in goal , and an eventual Euro 2025 hero and winner.
Now in Earps’ new autobiography ‘All In’, she’s detailed how she advised against Hampton’s reintegration into the national team set up, and why it led to her retirement.
