A 60-year-old Iron River woman was killed this morning when she was hit by a vehicle on U.S. 2 near Idlewild Road in Crystal Falls Township, said Iron County Sheriff Ryan Boehmke.
The driver of the vehicle, a 43-year-old Crystal Falls woman, was not injured, the sheriff said in a news release.
The sheriff’s office responded to the vehicle versus pedestrian accident at 10:18 a.m., Boehmke said in a news release.
The death remains under investigation and names weren’t being released pending notification of next of kin.
Assisting were Aspirus EMS, Crystal Falls Fire Department, Iron County Central Dispatch, Michigan State Police, Michigan Department of Natural Resources and the Crystal Falls Township Department of Public Works.
