STOCKTON, Calif. —
The Stockton community came together on Friday to honor Don King, the owner of Fat City Brew & BBQ, who died after a long battle with cancer.
"We can say what we can say about how his journey ended, but it's not over and it's far from over," said Nadja King, Don King's wife.
Nadja King described her husband as "indestructible" and emphasized that the ambiance of Fat City Brew & BBQ was an extension of him.
"This ambiance, the whole vibe of this place, was an extension of my husband. It is literally an extension of my husband," she said.
She noted that, aside from his children, Fat City was his "baby," a place where people could come together.
"It was how people came together to eat good food, how people came together to have a drink, how people would have a bad day
