NEW ORLEANS — This Halloween, some traded the traditional exchange of candy for the exchange of vows.
Ranna McSwain, owner and officiant at The Chapel in Uptown New Orleans, decorated the venue to create a gothic-romantic vibe for her long list of ceremonies.
The altar adorned with birds and bones, couples from across the country chose October 31st as their sacred day.
“It’s an extra special, spiritual vibe,” said groom Coleman Paige, “It feels cool and a little dark.”
His new wife, Shelby Ford, agreed, noting the date perfectly suited her aesthetic.
“I always had gothic tendencies, and Halloween is one of my favorite holidays," Ford said.
The ceremonies reflected this unique spirit; while some couples came in full costume, others kept their attire more traditional.
