NEW ORLEANS — Young patients at Manning Family Children’s Hospital were immersed in Halloween cheer Friday afternoon as staff members organized a special trick-or-treat event inside the facility.
The hospital’s Child Life team transformed the halls into a festive space filled with candy booths, arts and crafts, and plenty of costumes — ensuring that patients didn’t miss out on the holiday fun while receiving care.
“It’s so fun watching kids pick out their costumes because you never know what they’re going to choose,” one staff member said. “We think they might go for Spider-Man, and then they surprise us by picking the banana costume. It’s nice to give them choices — something they don’t often get in the hospital.”
The event was made possible through costume donations from Spirit Hallow
