FARGO — A Fargo committee will move forward with the process of picking a convention center as planned, despite concerns that a downtown proposal underwent what some have called “significant changes.”
The Fargo Convention Center Committee decided through consensus Friday, Oct. 31, that it was comfortable with the four finalists in the search for a convention center site. Friday’s meeting was largely used to ask questions of presenters for the Fargodome and Scheels Arena proposals.
Before the question-and-answer session began Friday, Committee Chairman Charley Johnson asked how committee members wanted to handle the downtown proposal. EAPC Architects Engineers and the Kilbourne Group initially proposed building a convention center in the parking lot of City Hall.
