TORONTO — Fissures are showing in the $400 million Dodgers . Actually, it’s more than fissures, more like cracks, Southern Cal earthquake-style cracks.
Baseball’s superteam was still in this World Series thanks to superhuman performances from Yoshinobu Yamamoto in Game 2 and Shohei Ohtani in Game 3, but concerns were growing heading into Game 6. It’ll take a significant turnaround for the Dodgers to become the first repeat World Series champion since the 2000 Yankees, a full generation ago.
All or most of these things will need to get better for LA to pull off the repeat.
