HARTFORD, Conn. — Some of the hospital staff members wore masks Friday, but nothing could mask their enthusiasm for the Halloween holiday.
Being stuck inside Connecticut Children's Medical Center in Hartford on Halloween might be the last place any kid wants to be, but the tradition of “Reverse Trick or Treating” is the hospital staff’s best attempt to make sure children there don’t miss out on the fun.
“Every year, we do Reverse Trick or Treating, so all of our team members are dressed up as different characters, and patients are dressed up," said Katie Robbins, a child life program coordinator at Connecticut Children’s. "Staff members drop off treats to their rooms.”
For various dietary reasons, patients get toys instead of candy, which is the way Reverse Trick or Treating has gone
