MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Common Council's Finance Committee is moving ahead with a budget amendment that gives $8 million to the Milwaukee Fire Department, to replace aging equipment.
Part of that will be paid for by clawing back around $4 million from the Municipal Services Building project.
While it's more than the mayor's $2 million proposal, it's still well short of what the fire department is asking for.
The finalized budget is expected to be adopted early next month.
