Josh Giddey could be on track for a career-high haul after the Australian continued his strong start to the 2025-26 season with 21 points in the first half against the New York Knicks.
The Bulls, who are looking to make a 5-0 start to the season for the first time since 1996-97, led the Knicks 72-53 at halftime.
Giddey, who signed a four-year, $100 million ($154 million AUD) contract extension in the offseason, had 21 points, six rebounds, four assists and one steal in the first half alone to put himself in the frame to top his career-best mark of 31 points.
His 21 points tied the most he had scored in a first half in his career, having already hit that mark against the Pacers in March, while his four made 3-pointers set a career-best for any first half.
