A $2.5 million proposal to build a 24-7 gym and car wash in Butler has been approved by State planning authorities.
The Metro Outer Development Assessment Panel unanimously approved the proposal last Thursday afternoon.
The project will be built on a vacant 3502sqm site on Butler Boulevard, sandwiched between an existing 7-Eleven service station to the west and a gymnastics centre to the east.
The two-storey gym is expected to be operated by Ryderwear, which runs six gyms in Perth and five in South Australia.
The car wash facility will feature three automated bays, two manual bays and two vacuum stations.
The development will also include 40 parking bays.
Public consultation earlier this year drew 40 submissions, of which 32 opposed the proposal.
