Daulton Varsho gets his second big chance in as many innings.

He came up with two on and two out in the seventh and struck out against Dodgers’ lefty Justin Wrobleski. Now, after Bo Bichette popped up foul, he’s up again in the eighth with two on and two out against closer Roki Sasaki.

The Blue Jays are down 3-1 with four outs to go.

This time, Varsho grounds out to second to end the inning.

Chris Bassitt comes out of the bullpen to work the top of the ninth.

Alejandro Kirk, Addison Barger and Ernie Clement are due up in the bottom of the ninth. The Jays hope Bassitt can keep it here so they’ll only be down by two when they come up.
