Jack LaBrash is a baseball guy.
The Kitchener Rangers centre grew up playing on diamonds in his hometown of Brockville.
“I played Triple-A all the way up,” said the 18-year-old. “This past summer was my first time not playing.”
LaBrash wore a Toronto Blue Jays jersey to the Aud before Friday’s tilt against the visiting Sudbury Wolves.
And he was eager to wrap up his postgame interview so he could catch the remainder of Game 6 of the World Series between the Jays and Los Angeles Dodgers.
“I’m going to watch the rest of the game no matter how long it goes,” he said.
So, perhaps it was no surprise that LaBrash used his hockey stick to take a baseball type swing for a goal in Friday’s 3-0 victory over the Wolves.
The third line pivot scored his second of the season on a mid-air backhand
