GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - A Silver Alert has been issued for an 80-year-old man missing from Marion County.

Sheriff’s deputies say Ronald Sharp was last seen leaving his home on Thursday on Southwest 63rd Avenue in Ocala. His caretaker says he has medical issues.

Sharp drove away in a 2020-2025 Jeep Wrangler with the license plate “HBR.”

Authorities say they spoke with Sharp on the phone around 5:30 p.m. Friday. He claimed he was in South Carolina.
