A 15-year-old is being praised for his quick thinking and bravery after pulling a man from a burning car following a crash last month.

On the evening of September 23, Payton Hogan, a freshman at Stroud High School, was at home watching TV when he heard a loud crash outside. He ran toward the sound and found a car that had rolled off the road and caught fire.

Inside was Christopher Miller.

“I just remember waking up in the ICU and then all of a sudden being filled in on that I had a crash and everything,” Miller said.

He suffered serious injuries, including head wounds, glass in his face, and a separated collarbone.
