PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Prosecutors have filed an intent to seek the death penalty against the man charged in the death of William “Pastor Bill” Schonemann in what police said was a religiously motivated attack .
Court records show that the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office entered its notice of intent on Wednesday against Adam Christopher Sheafe.
In late July, Sheafe pleaded not guilty after he was indicted by a grand jury on six felony charges related to Schonemann’s murder.
He is also facing multiple other charges after leading law enforcement on a statewide manhunt through northern Arizona, where he stole a car and broke into multiple homes.
