At approximately 2:00 pm Friday, McCracken County High School front office staff received a phone call reporting a potential threat.
Administrators placed the school in lockdown until the building and campus could be deemed safe for dismissal.
With the assistance of the McCracken County Sheriff's Department and the school's SRO team, the building was deemed safe at 2:35.
At 2:40, with an abundance of caution, administration and resource Officers worked with McCracken County Sheriff’s Department to escort students in small groups to buses for dismissal before dismissing all other students.
McCracken County detectives are investigating the origins of the phone call.
