BOISE, Idaho — A Nampa teen who police said attacked his mother and then threatened officers with a knife was shot by police Friday night and is hospitalized in serious condition.
The Nampa Police Department(NPD) said officers responded to a disturbance call around 7:30 p.m. at a park near the intersection of 21st Avenue South and 2nd Street South, where a teen was reported to be "violently attacking his mother."
Police said when officers arrived at the scene, they found the mother outside with injuries from the alleged attack.
The teenager had gone to the mother's home, which was nearby, according to the NPD. Officers went to the front door to speak with him, and police said he threatened officers with a knife.
