SOMERVILLE, Texas (KBTX) - The Somerville Yeguas cruised past the Milano Eagles, 49-6, on Friday to clinch a spot in the postseason.
Why did Somerville win? The Yeguas settled in to a rhythm in the first quarter and kept their foot on the gas. Milano picked up a handful of chunk plays to tread water, but Somerville was much more relentless and explosive offensively.
Standout performance: Ja’Keith Daniels was a menace on both sides of the ball for Somerville. He scored a touchdown on the Yeguas’ first play from scrimmage and nearly housed their second offensive play as well.
What’s next? Somerville will have a week off before entering the bi-district round of the playoffs.
Milano’s season comes to an end at 2-8 (both wins awarded via forfeit from Snook and McDale).
