STRONGSVILLE, Ohio — Medina scored a touchdown with less than 30 seconds remaining to secure a 28-25 comeback victory over Strongsville in the first round of the Division I, Region 1 playoffs on Friday.
Senior John Nagel punched in a 1-yard touchdown run on fourth-and-goal to complete the Bees’ late rally after they had fallen behind 25-20 midway through the fourth quarter.
“Our kids came in confident today,” said Bees head coach Larry Laird. “We win games people don’t expect us to win.”
The 11th-seeded Bees had lost 42-14 to the No. 7 Mustangs in Week 6 this season. Friday night was different.
The game-winning drive was set up when Medina’s Jack Fletcher blocked a Mustang punt with only two minutes remaining, giving the Bees possession at the Strongsville 32-yard line. Senior quarterb
