FORT WORTH, Texas (KCBD) - The Trinity Christian Lions (4-5, 1-3) claimed their first win in district play, as they came back to defeat the Southwest Christian Eagles 24-14.
Down 14-3 in the third, TCHS RB Deacon Highley ran up the middle for the 55yd touchdown, which was the Lions’ first of the night. Minutes later, QB Braydon Jowers connected with WR Dawson Ashley, who had to reach over to grab Trinity’s second touchdown. On the first play of the fourth quarter, the Lions resorted to trickery when Jowers handed the ball to RB Ryder Toman, who then launched the ball to WR Cooper Carthel for the final score of the night.
The Lions return home Friday evening to face Midland Christian, who is 6-3.
