Australia has signed another critical mineral agreement less than a month after inking a major deal with the United States.

Resources Minister Madeleine King and Canadian counterpart Tim Hodgson negotiated the joint declaration of intent on the sidelines of a Group of Seven (G7) meeting of energy and environment ministers in Toronto on Saturday.

G7 seven countries, excluding Japan, have been incredibly – at times, exclusively – reliant on China for a range of materials including rare earth magnets and battery metals.
