A fire broke out at the Swiggy Instamart pod in Navi Mumbai’s APMC market, Vashi, on Friday morning, October 31. No injuries or casualties were reported, officials said.

According to civic disaster control chief Sachin Kadam, the fire started around 9 a.m. at the premises located in the market area. Five fire engines were sent to the spot — two from the Vashi fire department and one each from Nerul, Airoli, and Koparkhairane.

Chief Fire Officer Purushottam Jadhav said, “Vashi Fire Brigade's vehicles immediately reached here and after coming here it was found that the fire is widespread... Water bowsers were called here. Fire is under control right now... No casualties have been reported. Cause of fire is yet to be ascertained, perhaps it was due to a short circuit.”
