MORGANTOWN — No. 19 West Virginia senior forward Marcus Caldeira had a final bone to pick with rival and No. 11-ranked Marshall on Friday night in a 3-0 win for the Mountaineers at Dick Dlesk Stadium.
On senior night, Caldeira scored two goals to reach five in his career against the Thundering Herd. Marshall conceded more goals on Friday than it had in a single game all season and lost its streak of four shutouts.
“I thought we had a lot of chances to do what we do, but we didn’t put them away when we had it,” Marshall coach Chris Grassie said. “You know, I think the game boils down to us making three mistakes while they didn’t make any. Probably more than three for us, to be fair.”
