MUNCIE, Ind. — A 20-year-old man has been detained after a shooting near Ball State University's campus .
According to the Muncie Police Department, the Delaware County 911 Dispatch received a report of a shooting outside of a home in the 1700 block of North Rosewood Ave. around 1:15 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1.
Shortly after, a 20 year-old-man from New Castle, IN, was taken to IU Health/ Ball Memorial Hospital with a gunshot wound in stable condition. He arrived in a private vehicle, police said, not an emergency vehicle. Police then confirmed that this was the person shot at the incident on North Rosewood Avenue.
Police said the 20-year-old man has been detained for a preliminary charge of criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon.
