Christmas — Amy Christmas of Hawaiian Palm Baskets, that is — was in the house at the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa on Halloween Day.

“It’s so nice the resort does something like this for the employees,” said Christmas, a longtime vendor with the Grand Hyatt Kauai. “I haven’t had a chance to see any of the displays, but everyone seem to be having a lot of fun.”

The Grand Hyatt Kauai hosted a pumpkin carving display Friday on the second day of its two-day Halloween celebration. Pumpkin creations by the different resort departments and employees were set out on display, and guests and spectators were invited to cast a vote on their favorite.
