DMK MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his remarks linking Tamil Nadu to alleged mistreatment of Bihar residents. Speaking to India Today , she said the BJP thrives on polarisation for electoral gains.

“Unfortunately, the politics of the BJP has always been divisive. It has never believed in the unity of this country,” she said, accusing the ruling party of “dividing people first with religion and now with language and states.”

Asserting that migrants from Bihar have always been safe in Tamil Nadu, she added, “People from Bihar have felt very comfortable and safe in Tamil Nadu. It has been very peaceful here Trying to create division just for elections is very sad and dangerous.”
