Greater Manchester is set to be hit by a 'band of heavy rain' sweeping eastwards this weekend - but there are plenty of opportunities to get out while avoiding the showers.

The Met Office is predicting a blustery day, with sunny spells and showers today (November 1) as the autumn weather sets in.

The forecaster says there will continue to be outbreaks of heavy rain for much of the region.

Then, the conditions expect to become brighter, with sunny spells and scattered showers for the afternoon. There will be blustery winds, with it feeling cooler than Friday, and a maximum temperature 12 °C.
