The severe cyclonic storm ‘ Montha ’ has caused extensive damage across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, with preliminary losses in Andhra alone estimated at ₹5,265 crore, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said on Friday, October 31.

Addressing a press conference at the Secretariat, Naidu informed about the department-wise losses, including ₹2,079 crore in Roads and Buildings, ₹1,270 crore in fisheries, ₹829 crore in agriculture, and ₹40 crore in horticulture. Other affected departments include Water Resources (₹207 crore), Municipal Administration (₹109 crore), and Panchayat Raj (₹9 crore).

The Chief Minister said a report will be sent to the Centre, adding that figures will be updated as further assessments come in.
