Martin Necas had a goal and two assists one day after signing an eight-year, $92 million extension, leading the Colorado Avalanche to a 4-2 victory over the Vegas Golden Knights on Friday in Las Vegas.

Necas opened the scoring on the first shot 41 seconds into the game.

Cale Makar added a goal and an assist while Brock Nelson and Brent Burns also scored goals for the Avalanche, who have won two in a row. Scott Wedgewood made 21 saves en route to his league-leading seventh victory of the season.

Tomas Hertl and Mitch Marner each had a goal and an assist for the Golden Knights, who took just their second regulation loss of the season and first at home. Carl Lindbom, making his second career NHL start, finished with 22 saves.
