After a monthlong delay in clearing trails in the popular Cameron Pass area due to the federal government shutdown, Cameron Pass Nordic Ranger members will soon be removing fallen trees on trails and roads for skiers and snowshoers.

The volunteer group usually clears trails in October but didn't get the go-ahead from the U.S. Forest Service to clear trails until Oct. 28, according to Karen Roth, who started the Cameron Pass Nordic Ranger program in 1992 while working for the U.S. Forest Service.
