New Delhi: The Unified Payments Interface (UPI) system recorded its highest-ever transaction volume and value in October 2025, reflecting robust digital activity driven by the festive season and the rollout of GST 2.0 relief measures. The platform processed 20.7 billion transactions worth Rs27.28 trillion, marking a historic milestone since UPI’s inception in April 2016.

Compared to September, transaction volume rose by 5 per cent, while value increased by 10 per cent. This surpassed the previous records of 20.008 billion transactions in August 2025 and a transaction value peak of Rs 25.14 trillion in May 2025. In September, UPI had processed 19.63 billion transactions worth Rs 24.9 trillion. October’s activity translated into an average of 668 million daily transactions, valued at Rs 87
