A couple has been gunned down and 10 other people have been injured – including several children – in a village on the Greek island of Crete this morning.
Gunmen opened fire on homes and vehicles at around 11am in Vorizia, in what appears to be a family feud.
None of the victims have yet been named, however police confirmed that a man, aged 39, and a woman, aged 56, had died in the attack.
Two injured men are now ‘under guard’ in hospital, with their participation in the attack under investigation, the emergency services, the national emergency centre (EKAB) said in a statement.
Six other victims were taken to hospital with various injuries in private cars and farm vehicles, while ambulances struggled to reach the site of the shooting.
