Six candidates in Forty Fort will compete for three council seats in Tuesday’s election, while two candidates will battle for a chance to become the borough’s mayor.

All six council candidates — LeeAnn McDermott, Amy Carrozza, Lee Corbett, Tori Carey, Amanda Gallagher and Sara Michaels — ran as Republicans in the primary.

McDermott, Carrozza and Corbett, who ran as the team “Forty Fort Proud,” along with mayoral candidate Tony Smith, ended up securing that party’s nomination.

Carey, Gallagher, and Michaels, who also ran as a team under “Forty Fort United,” along with mayoral candidate Mary Ann Bottaro, were selected to represent the Democratic ticket with write-in votes.
